Flaring For Men 1226

I smelt the original at the penhaligons shop and it was definitely on my wish list. Bought the PP version which to my nose is identical to the original. I will be buying a bigger bottle of this ASAP. Just got out of the shower and can still smell on me. Smells great and great longevity, love it.

I approach oud based perfumes with trepidation as I have not been a fan previously, however, some of these Malle inspired ouds are a revelation. This one has made me a convert. If oud can be light and airy then this one is. It is a clean oud, with lovely incense and rose. Immediate love.

Night Dream 1879

Oh my heavens. This starts out like a barnyard. Talk about poopy animalic. But give it 15 minutes and it becomes the most beautiful, complex explosion of a scent. The original costs nearly £1000. Do yourself and your wallet a favour ... buy this one. It is glorious.

Letters and Lines For Men 0940

I haven’t sampled the original, so I can’t comment how similar this is. I purchased the oil. It was a great experience from the get-go. The smell is intoxicating for me and I get great personal enjoyment when wearing this. I apply on the neck and wrists and then rub a little from the writs on my shirt. Some PP oils are strong, and some aren’t…This is a strong one. I can feel the bubble around me after applying and get wafts of the perfume at lunch after applying in the morning. Very hard to gauge exactly how long it lasts, as your nose gets used to it after a while, but I think its pretty good. Great for summer evenings after work as well. Beware, initial projection is strong, don’t apply so much if in closed environments. Will buy again when I finish my bottle

Water Excel 1961

I haven’t sampled the original, so can not comment on it’s similarity. I purchased the oil which is clear in colour. I get a gentle smell of white flowers on application, similar to walking past a florist. Its very subtle, so I recommend application to clothes as well as skin. The projection is moderate to low and longevity with application to neck and clothes is half a day for me. It may last longer, but I cannot smell it as the wearer. This one is soft, subtle and pleasant. Fine for the office, and flexible. I’m ok wearing it as a man, but it does lean feminine. If you like something with a bit more punch give this a pass. I will let the oil sit and retry again few months later, and see how it goes.
