Product description
This is a very high grade pure 100% oud oil. This type of consistency is very rare these days, in fact the distiller wants this one back because he has a buyer who wants this type at any cost, since the distiller is no longer doing this particular consistency as this one is quite thick. Its 100% pure with no additives or solvents. Its oil from the Assam region.
Its known as Maliki, Malik in the Arabic language is called King, and since this is the best and top of the top, its called Maliki Oud.
Its natural and wild, these days due to a shortage of trees, most oud is cultivated, but this particular one is wild, naturally grown.
When the distillation takes place, the wood goes through a few rounds of distillation known as presses, this particular one is a 1st press, which is the highest grade you can get, the grade drops as the presses increase, so the 2nd press and 3rd press won't be same quality as the 1st press.
Distillation can take place in 2 ways, either on gas or on wood fire, the traditional method is on wood fire but makes the process very tedious and someone has to monitor this 24 hrs a days, with gas fire its not as complicated, the end product is also very different, wood fire distillation is better quality.
Perfume Parlour has owned this batch for at least a couple of years, and the age of the tree was around 30 years.
IMPORTANT: Due to the nature of the product and because the purity matters so much when it comes to pure oils, we cannot accept a return on this item, so please try a 1ml sample first before committing to buy a full 3ml, the sample will in the bottle shown.

Option Review:3ml
This was my introduction to pure oud oil. I thought I'd understood oud as I've smelt many luxury oud based fragrances, I was mistaken. Previously I thought of oud as a note, but thanks to this (and others I've tried subsequently) I see that ouds can have drastically different and complete scent profiles. This on my skin is fresh and invigorating (but not like a freshie perfume), like mint, fresh fruit and a light honey yet rich and substantial with very little of the barnyard smell I'd thought of as oud. If you've smelt enough perfumes not to be scared by oud and like me wanted to try the real thing, I couldn't recommend this more highly. I had planned to use it in another fragrance but that's no longer the case, I will now use it as an attar when I want to make an extra effort to create a statement scent profile. I've purchased many oils from PP and enjoyed many of them, this is by far the most expensive item and yet the only one that has compelled me to share a review. I guess my oud arc has now begun, thanks for that. :D
